Its me again...(:

Last Wednesday,Intelligentsians together with the CEP students went to SBPI Kuantan.Actually,we were suppose to go to the Teluk Cempedak for our CEP activity. But we were very lucky that SBPI Kuantan has invited us to their school. They told Zati(PIC for the day) that they are going to perform for all of us in order to show the China students about the cultures of Malaysia.

And they did!It was such an interesting performances by the students of SBPI Kuantan.Silat, dikir barat, nasyid and some other performances were performed on that day and it went really smooth.
Besides then the performances, there were also booth on how to make ketupat palas and how to play congkak.Outside the hall, there were also some students of SPBI Kuantan playing wau. That made my friend,Hai Ling eager to try to play the wau and she managed playing with it with the guidance of the SBPI Kuantan students.

I think everybody had fun that day.I sure did!

Cant wait for the next activity...

Thats all from me for now

p/s:as you can see, there is always hai ling pictures here.sorry because i have only her

Tonight I have make history in my own history by posting my first post in this very beloved intelligentsia blog. But first, let me introduce myself. I am the Head Publicist of Intelligentsia Club for the 2009/10 session. The name is Safwan and I am a rookie in writing blogs. So this is how my first post is going to be. I would want to share with you guys some educational quotes that I think we could take as inspirations to us as students. Here it goes....

The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet. - Aristotle

Education is that which discloses to the wise and disguises from the foolish their lack of understanding. - Ambrose Bierce

Education in our times must try to find whatever there is in students that might yearn for completion, and to reconstruct the learning that would enable them autonomously to seek that completion. - Allan Bloom

It is possible to store the mind with a million facts and still be entirely uneducated. - Alec Bourne

Life at university, with its intellectual and inconclusive discussions at a postgraduate level is on the whole a bad training for the real world. Only men of very strong character surmount this handicap. - Paul Chambers

Getting things done is not always what is most important. There is value in allowing others to learn, even if the task is not accomplished as quickly, efficiently or effectively. - R.D. Clyde

Upon the education of the people of this country the fate of this country depends. - Benjamin Disraeli

Education is a better safeguard of liberty than a standing army. - Edward Everett

Nine tenths of education is encouragement. - Anatole France

Education would be so much more effective if its purpose were to ensure that by the time they leave school every boy and girl should know how much they don't know, and be imbued with a lifelong desire to know it. - Sir William Haley

There you have it. Ten educational quotes for us to think about...

Until my 2nd post...

International Movie Screening is going on this weekday (from 9th Feb to 13th Feb) and today, we are viewing LEMON TREE. But here I am in front of my laptop, writing this post to be posted in our blog ( plus I am having Raksi today)…

Sigh…

Yet, this is an honour for me to be given a chance to post my written words here, on this wall…

Besides the International Movie Screening which is on until 13th of February, we also have many other programmes going on throughout this semester like Grammar Workshop, Spell-It-Right, English Camp, Minutes to Fame, So You Think You Can Talk and etc… Yet, there is one particular programme that involves the international students from China which is conducted by Intelligentsia Club, the Buddy Programme. I am sure that most of you are aware of this programme and I am definitely sure that you are ‘aware’ of the new ‘lengchais’ and ‘lengluis’ around our campus (got you!! and me too of course… hehehe….).

The objectives of this particular programme is to help our friends from China to adapt in this new environment with the help of ‘Buddies’. Other than that, the ‘Buddies’ is also responsible to aid our new friends in English and help them to obtain Band 3 in MUET this mid year (with the help of all lecturers too…Without them? I don’t think so…) so that they can continue their studies in our university pursuing the courses that they are taking. Not to forget, all the fun activities and traveling that we all will be doing together as a family!!

We, Intelligentsians are honoured to help our new friends on behalf of our university and will definitely do our best to make this programme a success!

Yes!

By saying that we are doing all the best we can is to say that we are aware, discipline with self-control, and taking responsibility for our actions beyond our abilities.

Laugh out Loud,

never settle for anything less than the best…

Hopefully, we will be able to fly high, give out our 110%, achieve the goal of this programme and if we get lucky, land on China this semester break.

*wink*

Go Abang Long!! We support you!!

*wink*

Does this post just end like this?

Err…

Well…

Intelligentsia has the Chicken Dance as their official dance...

Errr… I am not that sure about this (the chicken dance)…

So now…

The time has come…

For us to have a theme song?!?

I don’t think so…

But lets just sing along guys!!

I love you

You love me

We are happy family

With a great, big hug

And a kiss from me to you

Won’t you say

You love me too...

After all, we all are family that sticks together through ups and downs…

WE ARE THE STICKY FAMILY (with the water shortage problem now in UMP, I am sure than we can be ‘sticky’ family)!!!

Till then…

P.S: WE LOVE BARNEY!! Aiks… Hehehe… I don’t think all Intell members love Barney but I know I do… YEAH!!

Hugs from a Barney’s fan,

Ling...

GOD knew that everyone needs Companionship and cheer,
He knew that people need someone
Whose thoughts are always near.

He knew they need someone kind

To lend a helping hand.

Someone to gladly take the time
To care and understand.

GOD knew that we all need someone
To share each happy day,
To be a source of courage

When troubles come our way.

Someone to be true to us,

Whether near or far apart.
Someone whose love we'll always

Hold and treasure in our hearts.

That's Why GOD Gave Us Friends!

On 4th February 2009,all of us went to Panching.Im not sure why it is called Panching because I didnt see the word Pancing there(Miss Liana said that place used to be a place for fishing).I guess so..hehe.

Firstly we were divided into groups. Then in that small group,we were asked to talk about some topics. In my group,we talked about traditional food and traditional clothes. It was an interesting discussion. My friend,Hai Ling is quite a talkative one.She started the discussion by talking about dumpling.According to Hai Ling a.k.a Zuleha, dumpling is made from noodles and vegetables. That is her favourite food and she said she will cook some for us one day.Cant wait! Then we talked about roti canai, nasi lemak, teh tarik and also some other chinese food such as Beijing Barbecue...Hai Ling is becoming a true Malaysian because she likes roti canai too(:

Our next discussion was about traditional clothes. We discussed about Baju Melayu and Shi po.According to Hai Ling,Shi Po are meant for women...

The moment that all have been waiting for. After the discussion has ended, all of us went to the waterfall.Everyone seem very happy and Im pretty sure that everyone had a great time splashing water to each other..One happy family.Thats what we are(:

I think its never too late to wish you people Happy Chinese New Year.May all of us have a properous year!Talking about CNY,intelligentsia has managed to give the students from China an unforgettable memories on the Chinese New Year this year. They are far far far away from their family and surely they wont have the same celebration here since Chinese New Year is all about families getting together. But intelligentsians are a family,so we tried our very best to make them feel like home..I think it was a successful one...

Bowling at Megamall in Kuantan, kite making at Cherating,`Makan Besar` at New Horizon in Kuantan and so much more fun activities we did that surely entertained everyone!

As a result, everyone had fun and has gained new experiences during the Chinese New Year. And most importantly is we got to know each other MUCH better!
P/s : Thanx a lot to those who has stayed and sacrificed their holidays just to make sure everything that has been planned will be something to be proud of.Guess what?It did!Sorry I couldnt make it...

Inteligentsia.. Let me tell you this.If you want to have fun, improve your English without having a normal boring class, eat and eat and eat and laugh till you drop, this club has it all. Actually we are more like a family than a club. What does a family means to you? Having each others back all the time, share things together (especially the FOOD) and care for each other are what we are all about.

Yes.we do improve our english day by day.We communicate in english. We are all about having lots of fun activities in ENGLISH.We don`t punish those who can`t speak.hehe.But we help them.so far we did a lot of activities already such as English Camp,Makan-makan for Raya, bbq,Grammar Workshop and more.We went to Teluk Cempedak last semester and we are planning to go much further!

Intelligentsia : intellectuals who form an artistic, social, or political vanguard or elite

Intelligentsians : Family members of an English Language Club named Intelligentsia in Universiti Malaysia Pahang.

No matter what happen, we should stand together. Don't talk behind your siblings back. Be honest. Be frank. Trust your siblings. And trust yourself.

There may be times that we argue and hurt each other. But, there're also times when we laugh and cry for each other. Therefor brothers and sisters, lets fly together. Making all our dreams come true and appreciate each and every moment while we still have each other.

May our love last forever..
